Texas Sandlot Baseball Club strives to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, transparency, and a love of the game. To further those objectives, parents, players, and coaches of the Texas Sandlot Baseball Club are expected to adhere to certain rules, conduct expectations, and procedures, which are set forth herein. A. FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS Texas Sandlot Baseball Club fees, which include a player’s share of fees for leagues, facilities, tournaments, etc. (“Registration Fees”) must be paid up front. Registration Fees are NON REFUNDABLE. If your player chooses to leave Texas Sandlot Baseball Club, or is dismissed from a team due to rule violations or disciplinary reasons, the Registration Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. B. COACH EXPECTATIONS Practices, camps and clinics will be conducted by a volunteer led coaching staff. Coaches are expected to, at all times, have the safety and general well being of the players in mind. Our coaches are expected to not intimidate players, embarrass them or ridicule them. Any behavior that is determined by the Director of the Texas Sandlot Baseball Clue to be excessive, abusive, or inappropriate may result in the immediate removal of the coach. Texas Sandlot Baseball Club embraces the “sandlot” mentality. As a result, all Texas Sandlot Baseball Coaches are encouraged to assist the organization with tryouts, offseason workouts, and organizational training events. C. PARENT EXPECTATIONS The success of Texas Sandlot Baseball Club depends on the commitment of everyone in the organization, which includes coaches, players, and parents. Parents are encouraged to attend practices and games. As needed, Texas Sandlot Baseball Club may ask parents to provide assistance with practice drills, scorekeeping, and other items for the team. Texas Sandlot Baseball Club holds its parents, players and coaches to the highest professional and personal standards. Coaches, parents, players, relatives, and friends attending the games are expected to treat umpires, opposing coaches, and players with the utmost respect and professionalism. Abusive or vulgar behavior will not be tolerated, and may result in the suspension or termination from a team. During games, parents are respectfully asked to remain a good distance away from the dugouts unless asked by the coaches. Players are instructed not to talk to their parents and friends while a game is in progress. Please allow the only adult contact with your son during a game to be the coaching staff. Parents are expected to respect coaches of the Texas Sandlot Baseball Club team. Subject to exceptions that relate to player safety or situations that are equivalent, parents should refrain from approaching the coach during a game. Any verbal or physical abuse of a coach, player, umpire, or any other persons will not be tolerated and may result in the immediate dismissal of a player from a Texas Sandlot Baseball Club team. Texas Sandlot reserves the right to suspend parents from attending games at the discretion of the Director of the Texas Sandlot Baseball Club. If a parent has a concern or question, please contact the coach of the player’s team. Such contact, subject to the exceptions noted above, should occur outside of a game or practice. If necessary, contact the Director of the Texas Sandlot Baseball Club. D. PLAYING TIME Players are not guaranteed playing time or positions. The coach of Texas Sandlot Baseball Club team will determine the positions for each player. Texas Sandlot Baseball Club strives to have coaches put players in positions in which the coach feels will both support development of the player and/or promote success of the team. Playing all positions is not a goal of the program; however, Texas Sandlot Baseball Club strives to provide players opportunities to experience different positions through through practices, offseason training, or games, as appropriate. E. PLAYER EXPECTATIONS Every player on a Texas Sandlot Baseball Club team is expected act in a sportsmanlike and respectable manner. Players are expected: -To not argue with coaches, parents or umpires. -To not use foul language and profanity at any time. -To exercise good sportsmanship. -To not taunt teammates, opposing players, fans, or umpires. -To not engage in any conduct or excessive outbursts that threaten the safety of the team, coaches, or others. F. ENFORCEMENT OF RULES AND VIOLATIONS. The rules and expectations listed herein are to ensure the quality development of the players on the Texas Sandlot Baseball Club teams while maintaining the integrity of the organization. A violation of any player or parent rule may result in disciplinary measures, including but not limited to, the following: -Issuance and documentation of a formal warning; -Suspension for a definite time period from practice, games, and other team activities dependent on the severity of the conduct/violation; and/or -Expulsion from a Texas Sandlot Baseball Club team. The Director of the Texas Sandlot Baseball Club has the absolute discretion to make final decisions regarding the makeup of a team or coaching staff, and can make such decisions at will, without cause. I agree RISK OF INJURY AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY WAIVER; ASSUMPTION OF RISK OF INJURY AND LOSS IDENTIFICATION OF THE CHILD: I/WE ARE THE PARENTS OR LEGAL GUARDIANS OF THE REGISTERED PLAYER {REFERRED TO IN THIS RELEASE AS “MY/OUR CHILD”}. THE “ORGANIZATION,” AND “SPONSORED ACTIVITIES”: I/WE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT MY/OUR CHILD WILL PARTICIPATE IN BASEBALL OR SOFTBALL ACTIVITIES SPONSORED BY TEXAS SANDLOT BASEBALL CLUB LLC (THE “ORGANIZATION”). THE BASEBALL ACTIVITIES ARE REFERRED TO IN THIS RELEASE AS “THE SPONSORED ACTIVITIES.” ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK OF INJURY: I/WE ARE AWARE OF THE RISK OF INJURY AND LOSS THAT MAY OCCUR TO ME/US OR TO MY/OUR CHILD AS A RESULT OF PARTICIPATION IN THE SPONSORED ACTIVITIES. I/WE UNDERSTAND THAT PARTICIPATION IN THE SPONSORED ACTIVITIES MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR LOSS AND THAT THE RISK OF INJURY OR LOSS CAN BE SUBSTANTIAL.
